Christine's
PR Success Stories
Problem # 1 - Restaurant Has No Customers
Solution - Zipangu Gained East Valley Recognition As A Superb Asian
Cuisine and Sushi Restaurant
Zipangu is a funny name for an
obscure small strip mall restaurant. So
when the sign went above the restaurant's door
no one quite knew what to make of this new
business.
Initially the lunch crowd was
sparse and the dinner crowds
weren't much higher.
They had excellent Sushi and other
Japanese foods. Unfortunately one knew they were open.
Christine Marek came in to
solve that dilemma with her publicity services -
Positive Relations, LLC.
Over a six months
period media campaigns and a fund-raising
community awareness campaigns were implemented.
Zipangu received an IMMEDIATE 446% on return on
their investment in publicity.
Food critics, TV shows,
print newspaper and magazine articles hit the
local media within a week from starting their campaign.
As expected, the result of
both campaigns brought in a flashflood of new
customers.
The community embraced them not only for their delicious food and
service but also for their contributions to the
neighborhood.
Sales
skyrocketed and the owners where able to sell this
business for a handsome profit.
Problem #2 - Brand New Martial Arts
School Grew To 230 Students in 18 Mos.
Solution
- Mesa Kenpo
Karate instructor hired Christine Marek and
propelled this student count from 10 to more
than 230 in less than 18 months.
The instructor started teaching 10 students from
his garage in October 1993. In May of 1994 he decided to open up a small 900 sq. ft.
commercial martial arts school in a local strip
center.
With extensive
advertising, marketing and publicity effort
Master Kenpo Karate (MKK) grew to more than 230
students within 18 mos.
This all happened during
the height of the karate business, where MKK
faced enormous competition in a small geographic
area. There were
18 commercial schools with a 2 mile radius and a
total of 36 karate studios within a five mile radius of this
business.
Christine Marek launched
several PR campaigns over the course of 18 months.
It included print and TV publicity,
plus community outreach programs.
These PR efforts helped establish Master Kenpo
Karate as THE premier martial arts and personal
development school in the Phoenix Valley.
The total return on
investment with the publicity added up
to more than $120,000 worth of media
endorsements and community publicity.
This is a 1,000% return on their
investment.
Problem # 3
- Chandler Carnival
Event Experienced Declining Attendance.
Solution
- Christine's PR turned this event into an International Extravaganza.
Who would have thought that an
Ostrich
event in downtown
Chandler could become an international
extravaganza?
CK Event Enterprises hired Christine Marek
as their
publicist for "The Chandler Ostrich
Festival".
Christine
was not the
first to handle the publicity for this
event.
Ever since
Christine took the PR helm for the Ostrich Festival,
it received record
numbers of publicity hits, even on an
International level.
The International press attended
from as far away as Korea, just to report on the
event and ride the Ostriches.
As a result of this
publicity and other marketing efforts,
the attendance rose from 300,000 people in
2002 to more than half a million visitors in 2003.
This HUGE increase in visitors forced the event
to move to a much larger venue for the following
year.
Problem # 4 -
Robson Communities needed to communicate with
their residents and prospects.
Solution
- Christine Marek helped create their very own newspaper
for FOUR
different communities.
Do you ever wish you could
successfully market to a captured audience?
Christine
Marek was hired in 1986 as the publication
manager and advertising sales manager for the
retirement newspaper Sun Lakes Slash. The developer,
Ed Robson, printed for it for his
residents in Sun Lakes, Arizona.
At the beginning, this paper's
circulation was less than 5000. For nine years
Christine worked for Robson Communities and
developed this newspaper while she was
creating/managing three additional newspapers for
three new residential active adult communities.
The total circulation grew to more
than 20,000 papers. Local residents and
out-of-state visitors to the Robson
communities received continuous promotional news
from the developer about his products,
amenities and life-style features.
Recognized
for excellence these newspapers received
numerous awards from the Arizona Press Women and
Nat'l Association of Press Women.

News" was THE LARGEST independently owned direct-delivered
